ABEO, a place where art and craft come together. We are a brand that specialises in the crafting of one-of-a-kind pieces of jewellery, accessories, and clothing, all of which are made by hand with a great deal of care and affection.

ABEO is the creation of Brother-Sister Duo Krishnendu and Kasturika Ghosh. In 2021, after quitting her job in a reputed Fashion label, Kasturika find her love for Handmade crafts like Crochet earrings and Bags. Gradually she realised the potential of Handmade Art. But in the age of Fast Fashion, the skills of Local Karigars are slowly fading away. The Fast moving Fashion space now relies more on Computers and Machines. There are only a handful of business left in the Fashion community which nurtures Skilled Karigars. Therefore, in an effort to preserve the Craft and Craftsmanship, we decided to start giving these Skilled Karigars a Platform.

Despite the initial hiccups, we setup a workshop in the basement of our own house in Shyamnagar. Looking out for Karigars was a painful task in itself. But once we started working with them, we began to build trust. Words started spreading, the Karigar community got to know about us. More Karigars joined us in our Small Family. By 2023, we are a team of 8 including us.

It is just the beginning. ABEO, an African term literally means to bring joy. When you wear our hand block printed and hand embroidered creations, you’re not just donning fashion; you’re wearing stories of empowerment, culture, and craftsmanship.
